Hello Lovelies!

It's been rough here in NYC and I'm happy to say that we are finally back. Thank you to all for your lovely emails and concerns. We actually were lucky to only loose power and minor damages but others as you may know have had devastating loss. That is why I encourage you to please donate what you can to the American Red Cross or the NYC Mayor's Fund. I am happy that things are slowly getting back to normal but there is still more that can be done. We can all help a little and every little bit counts.

Now lets get back to weddings and all the lovely! Today I am featuring Ariana & James's lovely Tribeca Wedding sent to us by Kamila Harris Photography. Here is more from Kamila: Elegant NYC wedding with beautiful Korean traditions mixed in to a simple, modern, chic celebration. Beautiful, modern, elegant - just a few words to describe this Manhattan wedding of two talented musicians (the bride, Ariana is a Juilliard graduate) who met while teaching at the University of Indianapolis. The ceremony and reception were held at the amazing Tribeca Grill. Before the reception, I had about an hour with the bride and groom to take photos in the Tribeca area, which was a wonderful urban backdrop for their portraits. During the reception, the bride celebrated her Korean heritage by having a traditional Korean Bowing Ceremony where the matriarch of the family gives a blessing to the new bride and groom. For her Spring/Summer 2013 collection, Ines Di Santo was captivated by one of Europe’s most romantic cities. Known as the “Queen of the Adriatic”, Venice, and more specifically the city’s annual Carnevale, inspired Ines with its ornate masks, exuberant spirit and grandeur. Reminiscent of the fashions of Italy’s opulent Baroque Era, the enchanting collection is rich with jeweled embroidery, infusions of color and feminine elegance. Inspired by the legendary celebration of Carnevale, the Spring/Summer 2013 collection was created for the most personal celebration of all!

Thursday Trend Day | Wedding Day Hair from the runway | Sleek Ponytails

Hello Lovelies!

Today I'm sharing with you the latest trend that I saw all over the bridal market runways. Ponytails that are so ever chic and modern! I saw them slicked back, with a side part and so slick and clean. Perfect to show your pretty face on your big day!

This gorgeous hair Kérastase Paris created for the Romona Keveza Bridal/Luxe Couture 2013 show. Here's a "How to":

Step 1 - On clean, dry hair spray a generous amount of Lotion Densitive GL Spray. Then apply Mousse Substantive directly on the roots. Blow dry smooth and straight using a boar bristle brush.

Step 2 - Create a deep side part over the left eye – the further over the side part, the more dramatic of a swoop you’ll create at the fringe. Then clip that hair out of the way. Just make sure you take out enough hair so the fringe is solid and doesn’t separate when swooped.

Step 3 - Backcomb the rest of the hair at the top crown area of the head. The backcombing should be fairly tight at the root while leaving the ends smooth. Then with a boar bristled flat brush, smooth out the surface of the hair you’ve just backcombed without taking out too much of the volume.

Step 4 - Gather and secure the smoothed out hair into a low ponytail at the back. Take a small piece of hair from the pony and wrap it around the base to hide the elastic band. Pin the hair and spray with Double Force Controle Ultime Hairspray to secure the wrapped hair in place.

Step 5 - Take the front hair you’ve clipped out of the way and drape over the forehead to create a swooped fringe. Tuck the ends behind the ear and pin the ends into the base of the ponytail. Spray the entire look with Double Force Controle Ultime Hairspray to finish and hold the style in place.

Thursday Trend Day | Wedding Hair up do from the Monique Lhuillier 2013 Bridal Runway | Rope Braided Chignon

Hello Lovelies!

Today I'm featuring a close up look and "how to" on the oh so pretty updo's shown on Monique Lhuillier's 2013 bridal collection. Ever so chic and pretty this gorgeous hair Kérastase Paris created at show is so wearable too.

The lead stylist was Brandon Yamamoto from Kérastase Paris and below is a how to:

Step 1 - Create a deep side parting on the left side of the head. Prep hair with Mousse Substantive at the root through ends. Scrunch product through for even saturation.

Step 2 – Blow dry product into hair while scrunching through to create a beachy, loose texture. If hair needs additional hold, spray Lotion Densitive through the ends and blow dry.

Step 3 - On each side of the front, create a rope braid and loosen by holding one strand and pushing the other up. Using and elastic fasten both braids right above the occipital.

Step 4 - Take 1 inch section from nape area leaving the center section of hair out. Fasten each side together just below the previous elastic.

Step 5 - Create another rope braid with the remaining ends of the hair and tuck the ends through hole between the head and the first elastic. Pin to create a loose chignon. Finish with Double Force Control Ultime.
