Thomas + Heather's Surprise Engagement in Venice
Hello Lovelies!
Thomas is a firefighter from California, and wanted to surprise Heather, his love, with a marriage proposal in Venice. Luca Faz Photographer in Venice was able to capture theses beautiful moments and shares the couple's story below.
I assisted in suggesting a quite and romantic place (San Giorgio island, conveniently located in front of their hotel near San Marco Square).
Thomas told her that it was a good idea to go there to have a view from the Church's tower (that indeed is a remarkable one), I was waiting in the planned place with a dozen of red roses and an assistant and hidden cameras ( more from the rain than from them as they would be quite focused on the engagement to notice anything).
They took the ferry, he reached the roses and gave them to her one by one together with sweet words.
Then he took the ring, kneed and made his marriage proposal.
I left them some privacy and they actually visited the tower of the church, then after a quick change we have a short photographic walk around the area of Castello.
How romantic!

Ben + Pooja's Brooklyn Wedding Engagement Shoot
Hello Lovelies!
Pooja and Ben met while Ben was visiting a mutual friend. It was one of those "the crowd parted" moments- but without the cheesy 90's Romance Comedy where the guy has to win the girls heart at the end.
More from Studio Finch who shot this lovely engagement shoot: We went all over in the Brooklyn area, starting off in DUMBO, Brooklyn Bridge Park, just before heading to Brooklyn Bridge, where Ben Proposed to Pooja. Pooja even included a DIY LOVE banner for the photos. :) From there, we headed off to their favorite ice cream shop- Farmacy Soda Fountain, and finished the day at Brooklyn Pub- BP = Ben and Pooja. :)
How Ben met Pooja:
When a close friend moves to a new and strange place, you need to pay a visit right away to help them get situated. So I headed up to Bristol, Connecticut to visit my good friend Tim. Along the way I met Pooja. Those eyes caught my attention right away. We merely exchanged a few words, but I knew we would meet again. That night, a fuse was lit that led all the way back to Brooklyn. Before I knew it, we were the best of friends. She laughs at my terrible jokes, she loves when I play drums as loud as I can, she deals with my love for punk rock, she loves Taco Bell, she is an amazing friend, confidant and support system- I think I am the luckiest man alive.

Sealed with Love Stamp
Hello Lovelies!
When looking for stamps for your stationery, rsvp or invitations it may be hard to pick the right one.
The sealed with love stamp celebrated its 40th anniversary this year and the art depicts an envelope fastened with an elegant wax seal and gives a nod to a loving gesture that never goes out of style. I think it goes so well with so many of the designs we create here at Lela New York and I know it will go with yours too! Remember that you can order your rsvp and save the date stamps ahead of time if they will be the same weight or less as a regular envelope.

After the Wedding Portraits | New York Wedding Photography
Hello Lovelies!
I love this new trend of having a photoshoot after the wedding. You get to be coupletely at ease and and have some fun with it! Thanks to Meg Miller Photography for this submission. Here is more from Meg: This couple is so photogenic and really comfortable in front of the camera, basically a photographers dream! I captured their engagement photos last fall, and they married this summer outside of NY. Kasey and Eric were searching for some more wedding portraits in NYC. We were given a BEAUTIFUL 60 degree day in JANUARY, so with a few New Years Eve extras we headed out to the West Village for some classic New York Wedding Images.

Friday Frocks | eShakti Customizable dresses
Hello Lovelies!
Every bride-to-be envisions exactly what her bridesmaids will wear. However, all women know that finding the perfect look for her maids is far easier said than done: Not every dress works for each girl’s size, shape, height, and style preference. Do you like the design, but the neckline, sleeves or length do not work for you? If all this sounds familiar, you will love eShakti.
To eliminate these challenges, eShakti introduces its new, customizable line of wedding and event wear that empowers brides to offer their bridesmaids style preferences and individual fit needs to create a wedding day or special event look that is exactly as envisioned -- and receive it within two weeks of ordering. Cool, huh?

Thursday Trend Day | Getting over that hangover with Mercy
Hello Lovelies!
I know many of you are going to be celebrating this weekend either for a wild bachelorette party or for good old St. Patty's Day. At the end of the long night full of laughter, dancing and celebration the worst thing to think about is the dreaded hangover that will set in the following afternoon. Unfortunately, no one really prepares for the post-wedding celebrations when all the drinking catches up with you and the dreaded hangover sets in. Now there is Mercy to save us from the dreaded hangover. It claims to help with the backlash of the dreaded next day hangover with a special mix of nutrients and vitamins.
Here is the info on there site on how it works: Mercy is a caffeine-free and non-alcoholic drink that is backed with over eight years of research and development with Gwyneth Paltrow as an investor and Dr. Steven Lamm backing the drink. When consumed as the last drink of the night, Mercy is the most effective product on the market at preventing hangovers thanks to its combination of nutrients, vitamins (B1 and C) and amino acids that produce the amino acid glutathione. Glutathione battles the toxin, acetaldehyde, which your body produces when you drink, and helps to prevent acetaldehyde from invading your body's cells and stealing oxygen from them. Mercy provides the nutrients needed to prepare cells so they are oxidized and healthy when you wake up. For every three-five alcoholic drinks you consume, the Mercy team recommends drinking one can of Mercy.
Good Luck!

Chelsey + Chris | A New York Central Park Proposal Captured
Hello Lovelies!
Today I am featuring Chelsey and Chris, and a lovely proposal captured by the talented Josh Wong Photography.
The couple are from Lafayette, Louisiana, first timers to the Big Apple. Chris contacted Josh a few weeks ahead to see if he could document his proposal to his girlfriend. It was perfect! The proposal took place at Bow Bridge in Central Park and I just love how Josh captured the big "YES!" And how about her red coat?! It looks beautiful in the picts; the perfect color ;)
